Silverbird

by Sea Swallow

/

about

Silverbird is just one woman's story but it's a song that many women may empathise with. Written by Claire Moodie of West Australian based folk duo, Sea Swallow, Silverbird is a call to women to be themselves and resist the pressure to conform - to look and behave the way society demands.

Silverbird was written on Claire's daily train commute from Fremantle to Perth .The song is also a celebration of truth and authenticity.

It was recorded in an old stone cottage on the fringes of Fremantle Port by Pete Grandison of Shanghai Twang and features Claire on vocals and electric guitar, Bill Lawrie on acoustic guitar, Ben Franz on double bass, Greg Brenton on drums and Tristen Parr on cello.
